SQAT

SQAT highlighted by the European Broadband Competence Offices Network

SQAT has been featured by the European Network of Broadband Competence Offices (BCO Network) through an interview with project partner Tamme van der Wal, focusing on the role of digital connectivity in enabling smart farming solutions.

In the interview, Tamme explains how SQAT uses robotic soil sampling, sensors, and satellite data to deliver timely, field-level soil information to farmers.

A key message is that fast and reliable broadband connectivity is essential to make this possible – allowing data to be sent from the field to the cloud, analysed, and returned to farmers in near real time.

This real-time flow of information is especially important in agriculture, where decisions often need to be made within short weather and planting windows.

Without adequate rural connectivity, the benefits of digital and precision agriculture cannot be fully realised.

The feature highlights SQAT as an example of how broadband infrastructure supports innovation, sustainability, and smarter decision-making in rural areas.
